2011 - 2012 Competitive Event Updates/Changes

  1. Broadcast News is no longer a pilot event.
  2. In all judged events, the individuals and students are allowed to share their name and school without being penalized on the scoring rubric.  Name tags can be worn into the events. 
  3. Preliminary Technical Scores will be carried over into finals in judged events (Example, Resume, Application, and Application Letter scores will be carried over to finals and scored with the interview).
  4. NEW EVENTS: 2D/3D Computer Modeling (Pilot)
  5. NEW EVENT: Business Meetings Management (Open Event, Pilot): Business side of meeting planning related to all four event areas (Financial, Administrative, Support, Technology, Management Marketing and Human Resources)
  6. Virtual Events ar due on November 15.  These include Virtual Multi-Media – Individual, Virtual Multi-Media – Team, and Virtual Software Engineering.
  7. Computerized Accounting is an audit test this year.
  8. Two computers will be allowed for Financial Analyst Team Event
  9. Parliamentary Procedure Team has a new rubric.
  10. All grading rubrics have been simplified and are similar in nature.
  11. Submission deadlines for NLC are earlier than last year.
  12. Style-Reference Manual has been updated.
