Early Childhood Screening is a quick, simple, important check on how your child is progressing in his/her development. This free 45-minute experience for your 3- or 4-year-old is a fun, “low-key” means of identifying potential health or learning concerns while there’s still time to get help before starting kindergarten.
Areas screened include vision, hearing, thinking and communication skills, physical growth and coordination and social/emotional development. You’ll receive a full report on your child. Having this information early will guide you in preparing your child for school success. You’ll also learn about the many resources available to you through Wayzata Public Schools during those final preschool years before kindergarten. Don’t wait too long — the earlier the better! Age 3 or 3½ years is ideal.
This screening is required for kindergarten registration.
