Wayzata High School employs a modified block schedule. This schedule provides numerous opportunities for students to take a wide variety of classes while still meeting both graduation requirements and Minnesota Graduation Standards. Our school day is divided into four blocks with each block being approximately ninety minutes in length. Lunch will be approximately thirty minutes and is added to the third block.
Our school year is divided into four terms with each being nine weeks long. Most classes are either one or two terms and are identified as such in this guide. A two term class is the equivalent of a full year's worth of work. Freshmen and sophomores are required to be registered for courses that total sixteen terms. Juniors and seniors are required to be registered for courses that total fourteen out of sixteen terms. We encourage juniors and seniors to take classes for all sixteen terms but they may take a maximum of two terms of study hall each year.
