NSDAR Essay Contest Winner

NSDAR Kristen Busch, an eighth grade student at West Middle School, won the Minnesota State American History Essay Contest, part of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) competition, for her essay, "Forgotten Patriots who Supported the American Struggle for Independence."
 
In her essay, Busch tells the story of James Otis, Jr., a member of the Massachusetts provincial assembly and an early advocate of the Patriot views against British policy that let to the American Revolution.
 
Busch received an award for her state win at the 118th Minnesota State Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference.
