Course Description & Objectives

This course is designed as an introduction to the physical sciences of chemistry and physics, along with a component of Earth and space science.  Although much of the course is based upon understanding concepts, the ability to apply mathematics in order to describe these concepts is essential.  The materials that will be explored include the nature, methods and history of science, the nature of matter, chemical reactions, energy and motion.

More importantly, this course will teach you how to be informed decision-makers and self-motivated learners.  Science is not just about experiments and equations.  Science is the study of the natural world around us and how we fit into it as human beings.  Science is knowing what questions to ask, what information to look for, and always searching for answers while keeping an open mind.  I challenge you to be the best scientist you can be!
