Welcome to Wayzata Public Schools Community Education

Welcome to the world of opportunities awaiting you within the Community Education Department of the Wayzata Public Schools! Community Education provides unique educational, service, volunteer and leadership experiences that serve an essential function in our school district. In metaphorical terms, Community Education creates and delivers experiences that provide mortar for the bricks of learning upon which our community enhances its future.
We are proud of our impressive team of more than 200 staff members; each bringing their best every day to enhance the quality of life for learners of all ages. Consistent with the District's mission and vision, our staff and program delivery are in strategic alignment with the school district's quest to achieve excellence for each and every student.
The Vision of Wayzata Public Schools is to be a model of excellence where students of all ages discover their unique talents, develop a love and tenacity for learning and demonstrate confidence and capacity for success through:
    • Exceptional Student Learning, Experiences and Relationships
    • Community Trust, Confidence and Partnership
    • Operational Excellence
(Complete Strategic Road Map can be found by clicking here.)
Community Education schedules and operates district facilities before and after school hours, on weekends, holidays and during the summer. These facilities are home to programs offered by a host of organizations ranging from athletics, music and language programs. Through community use of facilities and cooperative programming, we strive to contribute to a community that values collaboration, partnerships and maximum use of school and community resources. Lifelong learning and citizen involvement have long been important values in Community Education. Providing learners of all ages with a variety of programs, services and leadership opportunities are among the highest of priorities. Our local citizens, businesses, private and public entities, city governments, social agencies and all other enterprises are welcomed as active participants in our community learning system both as a learner and as a resource to it.
Please feel free to call the Community Education office at 763-745-5200 to assist you with any questions you may have about community education opportunities. You are invited to join us as a lifelong learner and we sincerely hope that you will explore the possibilities that Wayzata Community Education holds for you!
