The Trojan Power Program
June 18, 2012 through August 2, 2012
Monday - Thursday at Wayzata High School
The Trojan Power Program is an enrichment opportunity. It is not a requirement of the Athletic Department or any of the Wayzata High School sports teams.
Philosophy: The philosophy of the strength and conditioning program at Wayzata High School is to maximize the athletic potential of each athlete. Through proper technique and demonstration, the athletes will be able to excel in a safe, supervised environment. We believe that each athlete needs a foundation in muscular endurance before 'jumping in' to heavy weights and compromising correct form. By using periodization training, teaching proper technique and overseeing the athletes, the "Trojan Power Program" gives our student athletes an advantage in developing their potential.
Mission Statement: Our goal at Wayzata High School is to develop each student-athlete in a comprehensive, year-round, strength and conditioning program, in order to help him/her reach their greatest potential mentally and physically. Wayzata high school's state of the art facility allows the best specialized instruction available. All areas of the "Trojan Power Program" are within MSHSL guidelines.
Why train at Wayzata? Training at Wayzata provides you and your peers with an excellent opportunity to train with teammates in a sport/activity specific program. The Trojan Power staff ensures proper technique and instruction in all phases of training. How hard you work will be determined by how hard you and your teammates wish to go!
Refunds: Refunds will be pro-rated from the opening day of the Trojan Power Program, June 18, until the day the Athletic Department receives notification and completed paperwork from the student or parent. A processing fee of $10 and a t-shirt fee of $10 will also be deducted from the refund.
Transportation: Students must provide their own transportation.
Participation: The Trojan Power Program is open to students in grades 7-12 who are attending Wayzata Public Schools. Home school students who live in the Wayzata Public Schools boundaries and are registered with the district as a home school are also eligible to participate if in grades 7-12.
Trojan Power #1: 8:00am-10:30am
Peak Performance. Sessions are geared to an upper level higher intensity training. Training is available for all athletes. Specific training for football players entering grades 10-12; as well as boys varsity hockey and boys' basketball.
Trojan Power #2: 10:30am-12:30pm
Peak Performance. Sessions are geared to upper level higher intensity training. Training is available for all athletes. Specific training available to sub varsity boys' hockey, girls' cross country, girls' basketball, and girls' hockey.
Trojan Power #3: 10:30am-12:30pm
Specific training for football players entering grade 9 will be available.
Trojan Power #4: 1:00pm-2:30pm
Basic Strength. Sessions are designed for all levels with introduction to moderate intensity. Specific training for students entering grades 7-9; as well as boys' hockey entering grade 8. Specific training available for all levels of lacrosse.
Trojan Power #5: 2:30pm-4:00pm
Sessions are designed for all levels with introduction to moderate intensity. Training is available for all athletes. Specific training for students participating in baseball, cross-country, track and field, wrestling, tennis, and swim and dive will be available.
* Safety First: Sessions are created and arranged with "Safety First". It is important to train during a session that is best for your level of conditioning. 7th and 8th grade students must register for either Session 4 or Session 5.
