Teach a Class

  • Do you have a special skill, vocation or expertise? Are you a retired teacher or professor who would like to share your passion? Teaching a Community Education Adult Enrichment class might be a great fit for you. We strive to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities for adult students who are always eager to learn.

    Where to start?
Open and review the Course Proposal document below. It will help you think through your class idea.
If you are ready to submit a course proposal, complete the form and send it to Deb Slomkowski (contact information below).

Three catalogs are published annually: fall, winter/spring and a smaller spring supplement. In general, course proposals for fall are due in May the previous spring, winter proposals are due by mid-October and spring proposals are due by the first week of January. If you miss a deadline, no worries! Just submit your proposal and it will be considered for the next upcoming catalog.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Am I In?
If you register by mail assume you are “in” the class unless we notify you. If you register online, you will know immediately if you are in the class, and if you provide your email address when setting up your online account, we will send you a confirmation email and receipt. Although most classes are held, we reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollments.

    Refunds
Full refunds are given when Adult Enrichment cancels a class. Unless otherwise noted, refunds will be given when a registration is withdrawn at least 3 business days (M-F) before the start date of the class; 7 days for cooking classes. Note that other Community Education programs have separate refund policies. Call 763-745-5213.

    Inclement Weather Information
If the District cancels classes during the day due to inclement weather, Community Education will cancel all activities. If school is not closed, assume classes are “on” — no refunds will be provided if classes commence. Announcements are broadcast over WCCO-AM radio and TV. You may also check the district’s main webpage at www.wayzata.k12.mn.us.
