Adult English Language Learners (ELL/ESL)

  • Increase your English language skills in six available English level classes to help meet your personal and work goals. Classes range from Basic English skills through high-intermediate levels to meet your needs.

    An English skills assessment is required for class placement.

English Language Learning Classes

  • Pre-Beginning English Skills
    • For residents with no English speaking skills.
    • One-on-one or small group tutoring with volunteers.
    • Time arranged for learner's convenience.
    Beginning Level English Skills
    • For people with very little skill in English.
    • Listening, speaking, and vocabulary will be emphasized.
    • On-on one tutoring with volunteers
    Intermediate Level English Skills
    • For individuals with basic English skills
    • Emphasis in pronunciation, listening, speaking, vocabulary, reading and writing
    • Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-9:00 pm
    • Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
    • Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am-12:00 noon
  • AVolunteer re you interested in working with adults 16-years and older? Currently adults are seeking help to improve their English and literacy skills to meet the requirements needed to be self-sufficient in English, obtain employment, improve employment opportunities or meet requirements to enter post-secondary education or training. Help is also needed with reading, writing , math and other GED subjects to help students pass the GED test.

    Class Instruction
    Only English is spoken. There are learners from many different countries in your class.
     
    Day or Night Classes
    Classes are held day and night. Call 763-745-6034 for specific days and times.
     
    One to One Tutoring
    English literacy volunteer tutors are assigned to some students who cannot attend class.
     
    Classes held at Interfaith Outreach (1605 County Road 101 N, Plymouth)
