Construction Projects on Track
Construction progress is on track for the additions to Wayzata High School (WHS) and the construction of the district’s new eighth elementary school, Meadow Ridge Elementary. Both projects are part of an effort to meet the needs of the district's growing student population.
Wayzata High School AdditionsThe WHS construction project consists of:
"There is a lot of enthusiasm throughout the building as we get closer to being able to enjoy our new space. This is a really exciting time for the entire Wayzata High School community," shared Wayzata High School Principal Scott Gengler.
- a four-story classroom and lab addition,
- music/performing arts addition,
- physical education addition/locker room expansion,
- cafeteria expansion, and
- new upper and lower commons areas.
Meadow Ridge Elementary SchoolThe new eighth elementary will be a two-story, 83,000 square foot building located just to the southwest of the intersection of Lawndale Lane and County Road 47."I am most excited about the flow of the building," shared Meadow Ridge Principal Karen Keffeler. "The traffic pattern is compact, which gives a large building the feeling of closeness. The entry is also a focal point, inviting you in to see learning in progress and the spaces in each grade level area will provide a place for students to collaborate and share their ideas."The new elementary and key portions of the WHS additions are scheduled to be open in the fall 2016.
